Aurora Wings Challenge #20

Aurora Wings Challenge #20

Hi everyone, It's challenge time once again over at

And the theme this month is....

For my Aurora Wings DT make I have tried my hand at making a
wooden jewellery box together with a pendant which features a beautiful
Aurora Wings image called "PEACOCK MASQUERADE" which you will find
in Mitzi's Aurora Wings Etsy Store. You will also find the beautiful
"ROSE BORDER" digi  there too, that I've decoupaged and used on top of my
wooden jewellery box.

Things that I've used to make the Jewellery Box

Bare wood wooden lidded box which I then covered in the same wallpaper that I've
used to updo the drawer fronts of my pine bedroom drawers. I then painted the box with
primer and then added a coat of white acrylic satin.

I then coloured up Mitzi's gorgeous "ROSE BORDER" digi image in the same
colours that I've used my newly decorated bedroom. I coloured the image a further
three times and fussy cut and layered it up. Next I added the coloured image to the
top of the jewellery box and then covered over with a layer of construction strength

I then added some ivory pearl trim around the top of the acetate to cover
the glue holding the acetate in place, I also added the pearl trim around the
base of the jewellery box and then again around the mirror inside the lid of
the box too.

I then lined the box with ivory satin (which was not the easiest of things to do lol)
and then as a finishing touch I added one of Tim Holtz's locks and keys embellishments.

Both the ROSE BORDER image and the PEACOCK MASQUERADE images
were coloured using a selection of Promarkers and Flexmarkers.

To make the pendant I used a silver oval cameo setting together with a glass
cabochon. I added the coloured PEACOCK MASQUERADE image and
then covered it with some Diamond Glaze, then popped the glass cabochon
on top and pressed down lightly to get rid of any air bubbles beneath the glass,
I then popped it onto a silver chain.

of England this past week or so, lovely crisp mornings with the sun shining....I just
love this time of the year so much. Speaking of Autumn, my post today is something
that I made for the Aurora Wings Showcase Blog after having seen Mitzi,s stunning

After colouring up the beautiful "Harvest Elf" image I framed her with Rust coloured Bazzill
and added whimsy die cut corners, sentiment and sentiment frame die cut, I also added a few

Aurora Wings Challenge #18

Aurora Wings Challenge #18

Hi everyone, we're back after our short break with a brand new challenge over at
Aurora Wings Challenge Blog and the theme this time is one that almost
everyone loves, it's.....

Anything Goes

So for my Aurora Wings DT make I thought that I would use Mitzi's beautiful
"Spirit of Hibiscus" image, once I'd coloured her up I thought that maybe she would
look prettier if I were to add her to either a CAS card or a White on White card, well
I couldn't decide between the two so I chose to add her to a White on White CAS card lol.

Card Recipe
7x7 white card, Die'sire die, white satin edged organza ribbon and liquid pearls

I coloured this gorgeous image with a selection of Pro/Flexmarkers and
I also added my Sakura Gellyroll to add highlights

If you would like more information on our new challenge and to see what my
lovely DT teamies have created just follow this link HERE and it will take you straight

Polkadoodles GDT#2

Polkadoodles GDT#2

Hi everyone, I hope that you are all well and have had a lovely bank holiday
weekend. I spent some time in the garden dead heading and cutting back
our willow trees and hedges, I can't believe just how much they've all grown
this year, maybe it's because of all the rain that we've had.
We still haven't finished decorating, we're having to fit it in with work, weather
and other family stuff, but we're in no particular hurry so we'll just keep
plodding along lol.

My post today is my second GDT make for polkadoodles, I've used
"Serenity Earthstar" image and you can find her HERE

Card Recipe
6x6 Card, Copper Bazzill Card, First Edition Boho Design Papers, Tonic NUVO
Crystal Drops, Satin Ribbon, Printable Acetate and Stardust Stickles

I coloured this gorgeous image using Pro/Flexmarkers, I then copied the image
onto the printable acetate, cut out the wings and added the stardust stickles.

I hope that you like her :)

A Special Gift

A Special Gift

Hi everyone, have you all had a lovely weekend? We had some
pretty impressive lightening storms here on the north east coast.I know that not everyone
likes thunder & lightening but I have loved them ever since I was a little girl, and these really were magnificent to watch they lit up the sky beautifully in shades of
purple, pink and blues.....stunning!!

Anyway onto a gift and card that I made for someone special. A little
jute bag which I decorated and was filled with "Pamper Yourself" goodies, a card and
matching gift tag.

I decorated the jute bag with lace trim and pearls and added a matching gift tag with an aqua
organza ribbon bow....(the blue heart is covering a personal message)

The card was made using a Sassy Studio's Image which was coloured with Pro/Flexmarkers,
I then added lots of stardust stickles to the bubbles.

I copied the coloured image and mounted it onto some Bazzill and Silver
Mirri and placed it inside the bag and made a matching gift tag to tie on the
handle, I then filled the bag with tissue paper and the "pamper yourself" goodies.

I still haven't made a start on painting the bedroom furniture yet, I'm still hoping to get some
hints and tips on updoing furniture and shabby chic-ing before I tackle it.....I think maybe
I should begin with something small and that way if I make a mess I won't have
ruined my furniture will I lol.
